Traditional Handsewn Kilts and Accessories

The Traditional Box-Pleated Kilt

This is the oldest (and most traditional) form of the tailored kilt. It uses slightly less than four yards of fabric.

The traditional box-pleated kilt is a comfortable and balanced garment to wear due to the even distribution of fabric; two yards of pleating in the back, and two yards of aprons in the front.

Traditional box-pleated kilts are usually pleated to the stripe and contains, on average, 5-11 pleats.

Heavyweight (16 oz. Cloth) - $480.00 CAD

Regimental Weight (18 oz. Cloth) - $525.00 CAD

All kilts ship with a garment bag, hanger, and fabric swatch/badge backer.

All of my kilts come with a lifetime warranty. Any repairs (i.e. not alterations) will be done free of charge (excluding shipping) for as long as you own the kilt.

All prices are in Canadian funds.

Measuring Guide

IMPORTANT: It is preferable to have someone else take these measurements rather than yourself.

1. Natural waist. This is NOT your trouser size! For most people, this is the indent at your side just above the navel. This measurement should be fairly snug.

2. Hips. Measure the widest part of your hips. This can be loosely done over clothing.

3. Length of the kilt. Measure from your natural waist to the top of your knee-cap. Keep your back straight and don't look down. Add 2 inches to this result.
